Snooker, bowls and a range of social events in a fantastic environment

The Cain Lounge is the ideal venue for members to enjoy some special Olympic Social Events, with seating for 70 it makes for a cosy, relaxed, safe and easy going environment amongst friends and is a great opportunity to make new ones.

With its stage and dancing area the entertainment throughout the year is varied and below is just a flavour of 2017 scheduled events:

  • Ladies Night – Very popular amongst our lady members with artist

  • Chinese Night – Chinese buffet plus cabaret artist

  • Social night – Relax with friends and dance the night away with vocal artist
  • Neil Diamond Tribute Night – who doesn’t love a bit of Neil with top Neil Diamond Tribute artist

  • Social Night – Relax with friends and dance the night away with vocal artist

July

  • Summer Spectacular – Cabaret Evening with comedian and top vocalist

August

  • BBQ – Full themed BBQ around the green followed by Cabaret Evening

September

  • Social Night – Relax with friends and dance the night away with vocal artist
  • Ladies Night – So popular we had to have two.

October

  • ABBA Tribute Night – Top ABBA Tribute act ABBA ALERT

November

  • Presidents Dinner Evening – The jewel in the crown. A silver service dinner with comedian and cabaret artist. This is a night to dress to impress

December

  • Christmas Party – Celebrate Christmas with full friends
  • New Years Eve Party – End the year with full cabaret, fireworks without the usual hassle in a relaxed atmosphere

Other Activities

Throughout the year the Cain Lounge hosts regular Monday Quiz Nights, Wednesday Whist Nights, Poker Evenings and more recently Fun Darts Evenings.

The recently refurbished Lounge Bar is ideal for a relaxing drink after a hard or not so hard day. As this is a members club the atmosphere is always unhurried friendly and relaxed and if you are a football fan it is a great place to watch all the big games.

The snooker room (also recently refurbished) boasts 3 heated fully maintained tables. If you are a snooker fan, we have 2 teams in the Ormskirk and District Snooker Leagues, plus there are club and fun competitions. Or maybe you’re just a social snooker player looking to play against friends any evening throughout the week.

The Olympic bowling green is re cognised as one of the biggest and finest in the North West. It is fully maintained throughout the year by our dedicated ground staff providing a surface that is the envy of bowlers of all abilities.

There are currently 3 bowls teams playing in the local leagues one of which is a Pensioners team.

Throughout the bowling season (usually April through September) as well as league bowls there are regular club/members bowling mains which are attended by bowlers of all levels from the novice to the league bowlers.

Friendly matches against other clubs (home and away) as well as days out are also scheduled throughout the year
